YOU SHOULD APPLY IF
We welcome applications from a broad range of perspectives including: behavioural operations, supply chains, system dynamics, networks, technology, strategy, change, and innovation. The role is primarily targeted at empirical researchers, i.e. academics that use real data in their research, and/or experimental researchers, i.e. academics that use lab, field or natural experiments, with high ambitions for their work.
We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or executive levels. We are increasing our interdisciplinary programmes and therefore experience of designing programmes and teaching with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.
Importantly, we want to be a great place to work. Therefore, we expect candidates to have the experience and interest to mentor colleagues within the Operations and Management Science, Healthcare & Innovation group, and to positively contribute to the leadership and development of our School and/or the wider academy.
Academics in the Business School act as a personal tutor to a small group of undergraduate students. They are expected to build a relationship with their tutees and support them throughout their studies via guided individual and group tutorials. Personal tutors facilitate students’ reflection on their academic experience, skills, progress, and ambitions, advise students about their programme and study choices and, where appropriate, signpost to support services.
THE ROLE
The University of Bristol Business School is inviting applications for an outstanding Professor or Associate Professor in Operations Management on a full time and open-ended basis. This is a key appointment within the Business School and you will have an international research profile and reputation in the areas of Operations and/or Supply Chain Management.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Our School undertakes research at the intersection of business, social science and technology, leading projects that benefit our economy, society and planet. This type of research suits academics with disciplinary excellence who enjoy collaborating with colleagues in other fields, for example computer science, engineering, mathematics, psychology, sociology, law or health.
