Position Overview
The Management and Human Resources Department of the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University invites applications for a tenured faculty position in the field of Strategic Management at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor. Job responsibilities include conducting cutting-edge research and publishing it in top-tier peer‑reviewed academic journals, teaching in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship, and providing service to the Department, the College, the University, and the field of Management.

Education and Experience Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have an earned doctorate (Ph.D., D.B.A., or equivalent) in strategy, management, economics, or closely related field from one of the top 400 institutions on U.S. News and World Report’s global ranking of “Best Universities for Economics and Business” (https://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/economics-business).
Applicants must also have a minimum of five years of experience in a tenured or tenure-track position at a business school that is accredited by either the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
Applicants must also have authored or coauthored a minimum of five (5) peer‑reviewed articles that have been published or accepted for publication in any of the following academic journals: Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Organization Science, or Strategic Management Journal.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in teaching both Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship/Innovation/Technology Management, evidence of effectiveness in teaching, experience in supervising doctoral students, evidence of effective service to the academic field of management (e.g., editorships, editorial board memberships, or leadership roles in conferences or professional associations), and indicators of a high likelihood of being able to operate effectively in an intellectually diverse department whose breadth spans strategic management, entrepreneurship, international business, human resources, and organizational behavior.

Fisher College of Business has a rich research tradition and engages through the college and the Graduate School in programs at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. The nationally ranked Fisher College of Business is one of 15 colleges within the university, with approximately 7,600 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students.

The mission of the Department of Management and Human Resources (MHR) is to offer and maintain outstanding nationally and internationally recognized academic programs at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels and to provide an environment conducive to faculty research of the highest caliber.
