Here is What’s on Your Horizon Faculty/School: School of Management & Human Resources Program/ Courses: Program/ Courses: TRM511 – Medical Transcription (SMA), & TRT311 – Transcription Techniques (OEB) Campus: Virtual & Seneca at York We welcome applications for part-time teaching opportunities. Course assignments are based on scheduling and instructional needs. Contract faculty typically teach up to 6 hours per week. While some courses may be offered online or in a hybrid format, availability for on-campus teaching is often preferred. Responsible for providing academic leadership in the classroom and ensuring an effective and compelling learning environment for students. You will… Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach and evaluation techniques. Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students. Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips. Evaluate student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses. You will… What You Bring to Seneca Education Diploma in Office Administration and/or RN designation Experience Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office administration setting 1–2 years of prior teaching experience in related subjects is an asset Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to deliver online teaching effectively Strong presentation, organizational, and time-management skills Commitment to a collaborative, team-based approach for problem-solving and conflict resolution Working knowledge of medical vocabulary and abbreviations, with a basic understanding of the structure and function of four body systems Proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with medical transcription standards Experience with patient medical records and formatting guidelines Commitment to equity in education Strong relationships with industry contacts and professional networks are an asset
