Department / Unit: School of Life Sciences Closing Date: Until the posts are filled The School of Life Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (http://www.sls.cuhk.edu.hk) is seeking for tenure-track faculty members at Assistant Professor or higher level. We provide an excellent multi-disciplinary environment to encourage research collaboration within and outside the School. We welcome outstanding candidates in, but not limited to, biochemistry, biodiversity and conservation, cell biology, chemical biology, entrepreneurship and biotechnology, food and nutritional science, genomics and bioinformatics, marine science, microbiology, physiology and developmental biology, plant and agricultural science, structural biology, and synthetic biology. Successful candidates are expected to complement and enhance existing strengths of the School. Applicants should have a relevant PhD degree and postdoctoral research experiences. Successful candidates are expected to (a) develop a strong independent research programme with external grant support; (b) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses; and (c) perform service duties for the School and the University. The School offers internationally competitive salary and fringe benefits. The appointees will be provided with a competitive start-up package including research fund and lab space and are supported by the excellent research platforms in the School including the advanced live-cell imaging platform (STED, two photon, light-sheet etc.), cryo-electron microscopy (EM)/electron tomography (ET)/focus ion beam (FIB), mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, genomics and bioinformatics, X-ray diffractometer and NMR spectrometer. Appointments will normally be made on contract basis up to 3 years, which subject to performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. Exceptional candidates can also be considered with direct tenured positions.
