PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT, FIRST-YEAR ENGINEERING
Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the delivery of the first-year undergraduate program in the College of Engineering by taking a leading role in the management of the administrative tasks associated with the program. In addition, this position will assist with instruction by providing support for technology used for hybrid delivery and managing student interactions in very large classrooms. The position will also support Quality Assurance Research and other research activities within the program.
Nature of Work: This position will report directly to the Director of the Ron & Jane Graham School of Professional Development (SoPD). However, this position will be an important member of the team responsible for supporting and delivering the Engineering portion of the first-year undergraduate engineering and the General Engineering (GE) programs.
This position will provide administrative support of the first-year engineering program at the program level as well as for specific courses within the program and other GE courses offered through the SoPD. The position responsibilities will also extend to logistical support for quality assurance studies and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) within the program. Opportunities exist for the incumbent to keep up with evolving technology in educational software and learning management systems.
The work will be varied and of high volume. The position requires advanced organization and communication skills as well as the ability to maintain significant levels of confidentially. The incumbent may have opportunities to provide input in the development of policy and lead the evolution of processes.
