What You'll Do as a Program Administrator 2 • Under the direction of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Office of Driver Services Administrator, provide program direction by relieving superior of a variety of difficult administrative duties pertaining to BMV Legislative Initiatives & Programs: • Serve as the primary BMV point of contact for large scale initiatives (e.g., Governor initiatives, legislative mandates, etc.); Collaborate with IT project manager & serve as a Registrar Office liaison to the IT Governance Board for large projects; • Serve as a BMV legislative liaison & coordinate with DPS Legal to ensure the proposed legislation is feasible for the division; Analyze the potential cost of legislation & the impact it will have on BMV essential services; Gauge operational impact of all proposed legislation & ensure information has been filtered through the affected BMV sections; • Advocate for legislation to enhance services &/or programs related to BMV policies & procedures; Provide technical advice to all BMV sections as needed; Communicate decisions & directives to appropriate staff; • Manage & oversee the statewide deputy registrar RFP process of 183 deputy registrar contracts statewide; Set, monitor, & maintain schedule for the program, including contract term rotation & RFP response schedule; Manage additions, deletions, & edits to contract terms & conditions; Oversee grading & assessment of proposals & advise Registrars Office on proposals received; Click here to see the full position description Option 1 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration. Option 2 -Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; AND 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position. Option 3 -Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; AND 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
