JOB DESCRIPTION

This resource will participate in the identification, design, development and implementation of assigned projects. Assigned projects may be general or systems related in nature. Interfaces with internal and external resources to ensure successful and timely completion in accordance with user needs. Participates in training users and evaluating the project. Manages performance of the project team and evaluates overall team performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management activities
  • Two or more years of managerial experienc

Responsibilities

THE ROLE OFFERS A HYBRID/FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, WHICH MEANS THERE’S AN IN-OFFICE EXPECTATION OF 3 OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK AND THE FLEXIBILITY TO WORK OUTSIDE THE OFFICE LOCATION FOR THE OTHER DAYS AT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

Methodology and tools:

  • Manages programs and projects from initial concept though post implementation.
  • Capable of planning and controlling multiple related projects with complex dependencies and shared resources.
  • Trains other in the use of project planning tool(s) and associated techniques for complex project planning, monitoring, and control.

Relationship Management:

  • Serves as a liaison and builds bridges and relationships with sponsoring executives and leverages relationships for clarifying the boundaries of acceptable risk and for removing obstacles to program/project progress.

Planning and Control:

  • Authors the project management artifacts.
  • Develops and maintains project plan(s).
  • Works with resource managers to obtain project resources.
  • Manages project issues/risks.
  • Ensure project governance is established and observed.
  • Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes project plan activities.
  • Identifies planning and execution options and recommends preferred alternative.
  • Considers multiplicity of interrelated factors as part of planning, including items outside the scope of the program/project.

Communications:

  • Authors effective (clear, concise, relevant) communication for program/project stakeholders.
  • Can communicate difficult and/or complex ideas and presents the appropriate (tailored) message to audiences up to and including the Managing Committee.

Team Building:

  • Determines knowledge and skill sets required to ensure successful project outcome.
  • Promotes collaborative relationships across project team members.
  • Works effectively across the organization to achieve goals.
  • Inspires commitment, high energy, and positive attitude from the program/project team. Influences multiple constituencies, including those from interdependent programs.

Resource Management:

  • Manages program/project team size of more than 50 team members.
  • May manage a staff of up to 5 employees including recommendations for hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards, and reviews.
