This position is at the full performance level located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care System, Research Service.

Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES:

The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative support in the following ways:
Prepares regulatory materials in accordance with VA Research and Development and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies to ensure health science studies are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practices Principles and all VA regulations.
Works with Principal Investigator to prepare and respond to all IRB requests, including annual continuation, proposed protocol modifications and adverse event tracking and reporting. Catalogue, track and organize all IRB correspondence.
Provides budgeting and financial management for the organization such as budget formulation, justification, and execution; financial management; and financial reporting.
Provides advice to management and program personnel on budgetary and finance issues; and prepares, consolidates, and submits budget estimates and justifications for all programs.
Participates as a member of the leadership team with the Division Chiefs in formulating and annually updating program management plans and associated budgets.
Manages procurement and contracting for the organization such as preparing procurement requests and established and oversees procedures for the receipt, reviewing and follow-up on requisitions for purchases from Federal and special funds.
Assists the personnel management program for the organization, performing or overseeing the full range of human resources requirements, including the following provides personnel management and administration for a large organization with varied functions and activities with new and changing requirements.
Performs all duties as assigned.
