JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking positive, enthusiastic, and dependable Program Assistants to join our team at Energy Martial Arts! Program Assistants will deliver premium member service experience while modelling martial arts values of respect and discipline for our students.
This is a Part-Time Temporary position ending on June 30, 2026.

QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to espouse and model martial arts values of respect, discipline, and self-improvement
  • Infectious positivity and enthusiasm
  • Experience delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ability and eagerness to participate in all three Program Assistant areas of responsibility (Member Services, After School Program, Events & Engagement) according to organizational needs
  • Ability to reliably commute to locations at 375 Kingston Rd in Pickering and 5550 Lawrence Ave East in Scarborough
  • A Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position
  • Martial arts experience preferred
    Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 9 months

Responsibilities

This position has up to three areas of responsibility:

After School Program

  • Acting in accordance with our core Martial Arts values of respect, discipline, and learning
  • Executing the After School Program in a manner which highlights and teaches those values
  • Executing and communicating the daily activities of the After School Program in order to deliver a safe, high-quality experience for our students
  • Communicating with the Program Coordinator and Chief Instructor in order to manage student progress, discipline, program execution, and to give them the information needed for them to communicate with parents;
  • Support the After School Program Lead in order to provide a quality program through the execution of curriculum and insistence on high standards of behaviour from students, including them through positivity in leadership and positive feedback
  • Interact with students, staff, and parents in a manner which upholds our Academy mission and values

Membership Services

  • Acting in accordance with our core Martial Arts values of respect, discipline, and learning
  • Creating a quality front-desk and member experience from the first contact through the entire course of the Martial Arts journey
  • Completing essential administrative and sales tasks
  • Communicating member feedback to the Instruction and Afterschool Program Team with respect to classroom and program experience
  • Communicating member feedback to the Membership Services team with respect to billing, program offerings, etc.;

Events and Engagement

  • Acting in accordance with our core Martial Arts values of respect, discipline, and learning
  • Providing positive and enthusiastic support in the planning, preparation, set-up, execution, and takedown of Academy events including, but not limited to: Academy birthday parties; Community events (Community Festivals & Parades, School Family Fitness events and Family Fun Fairs, etc.); Internal events (Movie Nights, Parents Night Out, Ceremonies, Demonstrations, etc.); On-site and off-site promotional campaigns.
