QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • 3 year community college diploma in Business Management/Administration

Experience:

  • 2 yeears experience providing administrative support and customer service; preferably in an academic environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Demonstrated ability take initiative, to work independently and follow through on work assignments
  • Ability to apply active listening to hear and understand the complete message being communicated

  • Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

The Program Assistant will support the admissions cycle for the Teacher Education, Aspire, IB, and Graduate Education programs in the Faculty of Education, helping prospective students navigate the application process from initial inquiry to enrollment. Through detailed coordination of application materials, applicant communication, and document tracking, the role supports operational efficiency and contributes to a smooth, supportive experience for candidates. The Program Assistant will provide administrative assistance to leaders; support the planning and coordination of various special events; and assist with creating and maintaining student admissions records.
