 L’Arche Hamilton Day Program Assistant  Full-time  Mon- Friday 8:30am- 4:30 pm $20.88-$22.55 per hour    L’Arche Hamilton’s Day Program is a welcoming, relationship-centred community where adults with developmental disabilities are supported to live meaningful, connected lives. Rooted in the values of mutual relationships, respect, inclusion, and celebration of each person’s gifts, the program offers engaging activities, community participation, and opportunities for growth. We are seeking a person who supports the mission and mandate of L’Arche Hamilton and who is flexible, compassionate, and available to assist adults with developmental disabilities in a day program setting, creating a meaningful day and working alongside a team. Starting August 21, 2026 Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Learn and understand the Identity and Mission of L’Arche. * Organize access to programs, activities, and plans that facilitate the active involvement of Core Members in meaningful work, volunteer, and recreational activities in program, home, and community settings. empowering core members to make choices that will ensure that they have a meaningful & engaging day * collaborating with other team members to support the physical, psychological and emotional well being of the core members; responding to each core member’s individual needs by respectfully supporting them with daily living skills, personal care, and where needed, administer medication when applicable. * Alongside the Activities Team, participate in preparing events with a focus on recreational and outreach opportunities; develop and implement work plans for events. * Encouraging core members to achieve the highest level of independence in their vocational skills and relationships; assisting core members in building skills in appropriate areas * Oversee and maintain all program spaces, equipment, and vehicles; ensure program spaces are accessible and meet fire, health, and safety standards according to community and government policies; ensure adequate supplies for programs are purchased and available. * Participate and contribute in the team meetings, and other community committees as appropriate * Communicating with core member’s family and other supports as is appropriate * In collaboration with other team members, facilitate the creation of a personal schedule of activities with individual Core Members. * Design and implement Individual Learning goals and Behaviour Support plans for Core Members as directed by the Team Leader. Complete any documentation requested to record progress. * Respect the schedule and priorities outlined by the Team Leader. * Respect the building, vehicle and other physical facilities in your use. Basic Requirements: Canadian high school diploma or equivalent Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening Valid CPR & First Aid certification At least 18 years of age Full “G” driver’s license with proof of insurance experience (mandatory)
