JOB DESCRIPTION

Program Communications Manager
Our Financial client is seeking a skilled Program Communications Manager on a freelance contract basis to lead enterprise-wide stakeholder communications for our transformative Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative. This high-impact role requires a seasoned communications professional with exceptional written and verbal skills who can effectively convey complex program developments to a diverse audience across the organization.
As the Program Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that align with business objectives and support benefits realization. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, including the AI Business Strategy Director and Chief AI Officer, to craft clear messaging and coordinate communication efforts across multiple program workstreams and the Organizational Change Management team.
This position demands a proactive, creative self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and can manage multiple priorities independently. While deep AI expertise is not required, you should possess enough understanding to translate technical concepts into accessible language for all associates. The role is hybrid with an expectation of onsite presence in our Downtown St. Paul office approximately three days per week, though schedules may vary based on program needs. Candidates must be local and able to commute.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for the AI program supporting enterprise-wide engagement.
  • Partner with senior and program leadership to craft key messages that clearly articulate business priorities and program benefits.
  • Create compelling content including PowerPoint presentations, templated emails, and visual storytelling tools.
  • Collaborate with the Organizational Change Management team to align messaging across all program workstreams.
  • Coordinate communication activities with internal corporate communications teams to ensure consistency and brand alignment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
  • At least5 years of experience in employee/internal communication or change management communications, preferably including external communications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills paired with strong business acumen.
  • Proven ability to develop communication plans independently and influence executive leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple projects under tight deadlines with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex information for broad audiences through clear writing.
  • Multi-media and social media experience strongly preferred.

Additional Skills

  • Assertive and results-driven approach to overcome ambiguity and deliver outcomes.
  • Creative thinker with a highly motivated, self-starting attitude.
  • Strong project management capabilities and technical proficiency in web/digital tools.

Location: Candidates must be local to St. Paul, MN, or surrounding areas to accommodate hybrid onsite requirements. Please include your city and state in your application submission.
If you are an accomplished communicator passionate about driving change through effective storytelling in a cutting-edge AI program, we encourage you to apply for this exciting freelance opportunity.
