Description
SAIC is seeking a highly organized and motivated Program Control Analyst to support a critical government warfighting program based in San Diego, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the onsite PM and a skilled team of engineers, assisting with key tasks such as project tracking, government property management, financial reporting, and subcontractor coordination. You’ll also act as Deputy PM, honing your leadership and program management skills. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong skills in knowledge management, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork. Key Responsibilities · Maintain and update status reports for government and internal stakeholders, tracking key project metrics like personnel qualifications and clearances. · Identify and implement workflow automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. · Represent the PM at meetings, consolidate team updates, and distribute action plans. · Finalize monthly status reports with input from SAIC Lead Engineers and organize team meetings to address progress and challenges. · Monitor general ledger reports, maintain accurate records of government property, and ensure proper receipt and tracking of assets. · Review and validate Travel Authorization Requests (TARs) for GSA compliance, track travel budgets, and oversee submission and review of trip and expense reports. · Take detailed meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure follow-through on priorities. · Assemble accurate financial and project status reports, track budget utilization, and develop standardized tracking tools like burndown charts. · Collaborate with subcontractors and serve as the primary contact for updates and deliverables. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to operate independently in high-pressure environments with competing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar tools is a plus. Experience managing and analyzing complex project data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration. Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement. Willing to provide thoughtful advice and recommendations to the PM on strategies and improvements. Familiarity with government contracting (FAR/DFARS), travel policies, and GSA guidelines is a plus. Preferred: PMP certification or progress toward obtaining it. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Finance, Business, or Accounting preferred) with 15+ years of experience.
