POSITION TITLE: Program Coordinator
WORK SCHEDULE: Daytime, evenings & occasional weekends
COUNTY: Fresno
OFFICE LOCATION: Fresno, CA
SUPERVISOR: Program Manager / Program Director
SALARY: $20 / hourly
TYPE: Regular, full-time

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in social services or related field preferred. Assessment and relationship development experience with child and adult populations; understanding of child development and family dynamics of diverse populations. Knowledge of county/community for which the applicant is applying for. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel. Must have a vehicle, valid driver’s license and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Experience working with database systems is a plus.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of county for which the applicant is applying
  • Experience conducting assessments, relationship development and sensitivity to child development and non-traditional family dynamics

POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will oversee multiple High School Bigs Program sites within the county hired. In addition, the candidate will conduct outreach and recruitment of high school volunteers, complete application process and enrollment for volunteers/clients and collaborate with administration from partnering school sites. With the help of a program assistant, the successful candidate will input data, execute weekly activities, track attendance of matches and document match activities on a weekly basis. This position is responsible for providing case management to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, supporting relationships between younger aged youth and high school volunteers and building rapport with all parties. Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer service both in-person and telephone as well as engage in public speaking.

  • Maintain confidentiality throughout daily operations.
  • Ability to form and sustain appropriate child and volunteer-based relationships based on positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction.
  • Effectively assess and execute the following relational support skills: guiding, supporting, confronting, advising and/or negotiating.
  • Effectively collaborate with agency program staff and community partners.
  • Ability to use time effectively and work independently as well as in a team.
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast past environment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collect meaningful data and draw solid conclusions.
