Who We Are Seeking: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Program Coordinator to support the Tribal Police Department in implementing key initiatives, including the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2022 (VAWA) Alaska Pilot Project and Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction (STCJ). This position plays a vital role in ensuring that project-based programs stay on schedule, meet specifications, and remain within budget. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Chief of Police, engage with local, state, and federal partners, assist in grant management and reporting, develop MOUs and MOAs, attend trainings, and support the day-to-day operations of the department. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent organizational skills and a commitment to upholding Tribal sovereignty, justice, and community safety.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 -5 years of experience preferred; training will be provided to CNV Tribal citizens.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; may be substituted with four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Leadership ability and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn CVTC software platforms.
    Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Driver’s license and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
    Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
    Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
