Qualifications and Requirements:

  • The Program Coordinator will have a college diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Work, Education, Recreation, Child and youth care practitioner other relevant areas of studies.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, including online facilitation, classes or programs.
  • Experience in community partnerships and collaboration.
  • Comfortable public speaking.
  • Confidence and experience working with youth ages 12-30yrs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexible, adaptable, and able to work with your team as needed
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the day-to-day functioning of the Youth Volunteerism Program, including administrative tasks such as email communication, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Facilitate workshops both virtually and in-person, focused on leadership development, grassroots community engagement, and social justice.
  • Design and deliver programming aligned with CUSP’s core learning outcomes and Canada Service Corps objectives.
  • Support participants through all stages of the program, including onboarding, in-class learning, placement preparation, and community-based volunteering.
  • Provide one-on-one support to youth, helping them access volunteer placements, mentors, and other wraparound services.
  • Collaborate with YWCA teams and external organizations to broaden access to relevant supports, events, and resources.
  • Complete all required documentation, including funder reporting, evaluation tools, and participant tracking.
  • Maintain program activities within approved financial and budgetary limits.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to ensure high-quality, equity-informed service delivery to youth.
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully within a team structure committed to feminist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and inclusive practices.

This position requires staff to work evenings, weekends, and other hours depending on the stage of the program. This is essential to ensuring the program is youth focused and accessible.
