OVERVIEW   Under the leadership of the Program Manager, the Education Program Coordinator is responsible for managing a portfolio of programs intended to engage a diverse population of learners. The Program Coordinator will oversee State and Federally funded programs as well as private foundations to help clients achieve their goals.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  •Develop and schedule activities in accordance with specifications and funding limitations. •Proactively recruit and select program participants, members, and volunteers using appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings. Work cooperatively with other component coordinators to plan education services integrated with health, mental health, nutrition, parent involvement, and social services. • Administer Needs Assessment and Baseline Academic Assessments to effectively track student enrollment and academic progress. • Develop Individualized Service Plan and Goal Trackers for each participant. • Monitor and record students’ in-school attendance, grades, progress reports, and report cards. • Create opportunities for students to attend Refugee After School Youth Programs and Refugee Summer Youth Programs to consist of mentoring, tutoring, and academic enrichment activities. • Act as advocate for student and student families communicating in tandem with school staff. • Support parental engagement in the school system by providing school orientations, interpretations of school messaging for parents, explanation of student successes and academic troubleshooting, Docusign  • Assist with school enrollments and school transfers when necessary. • Assure that files and documentation are complete, accurate, and confidentially maintained; and submitted according to Georgia DHS Standards. •Attend stakeholder meetings and foster strong working relationships with community-based organizations, and partner agencies; provide consistent communication with partner agencies to ensure coordinator of services and development of client and funding opportunities. •Ensure that refugees are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and provide education and advocacy when necessary. •Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. POSITION REQUIREMENTS   •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Education, Social Work or related discipline; •Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate well, building relationship and partnership with USCRI clients, community partners, state and federal program staff, headquarters, and field office staff; •Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and database programs, as needed; •Ability to get along with others and thrive in a dynamic fast- paced team environment; •Demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI, and interest in contributing to the long-term success of a local nonprofit organization; •Must have a clean valid driver’s license and insurance, and a reliable motor vehicle; and •Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
