CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Program Coordinator - Housing Services SALARY: $52,892.12 - $68,411.53 DEPARTMENT: Macomb Community Action Opening Date: 09/23/2025 Closing Date: 10/07/2025 12:00 a.m. FLSA Status: Non-exempt - overtime pursuant to Human Resources and Labor Relations policy Employment Relationship: Just cause subject to probationary period GENERAL SUMMARY Under direction, provides management support for Macomb Community Action Housing Services programs. Supervises, assigns, monitors, trains and evaluates the work activities of program staff and contractors. Assists with reporting for the program. Ensures quality and compliance with client files. Maintains and monitors available assistance for program compliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of procedures to support grant objectives. Provides administrative management support for MCA grant-funded programs. Supervises, assigns, monitors, evaluates and trains program staff and contractors, ensuring program compliance. Ensures that quality and appropriate program services are being provided to eligible families. Ensures client files, both in client tracking databases and paper files, meet proram requirements and standards. Maintains and monitors program records. Assists with issuing monthly and quarterly reports as required. Promotes and coordinates efforts toward client and agency goals with all stakeholders, including community partners, clients, landlords, homeless shelters and other agencies. Maintains and updates knowldeges through professional development training, conferences, etc as directed. Conducts community outreach and participates in presentations regarding MCA programs. Operates an automobile while performing job duties. Performs related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required Education and Experience High School diploma or GED Three (3) years of work experience in managing/coordinating residential construction and/or building trade activities Preferred Education and Experience Previous experience in coordinating programs designed to assist low income, senior, and/or disabled populations Previous experience with grant administration Required Licenses or Certifications Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel Preferred Licenses or Certifications Michigan Residential Builder's license COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES Knowledge of: Community resources, human services agencies and services available to low income, senior and/or disabled populations Skill in: Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with clients, families, outside professionals, agencies and the public Assigning, prioritizing, monitoring, and reviewing work assignments Working with diverse populations Effective communication skills Ability to: Plan, organize, implement and evaluate programs and services Oversee and provide supervision and direction Research and utilize community resources Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, staff, families and the public Work in an environment which embraces the county’s Dignity Campaign Effectively speak, write and understand the English language Effectively speak, write and understand a language other than English is preferred Understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries Work independently WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS The work environment and exposures described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
