JOB PURPOSE The Economic Mobility department develops, implements, and manages programs that support community members reach their goals for financial thriving. Programs include services such as job readiness workshops and training, job placement, case coordination and management, alternative sentencing, benefits navigation, financial literacy, and assistance with rent, utilities, transportation, food, and other needs. The Program Coordinator supports the success of daily program operations by coordinating services, assisting participants, and providing general support to facilitate the success of Inland SoCal United Way and Inland SoCal 211+ managed programs. This position works with a variety of programs and may be re-assigned based on available programs and organizational operational needs. The position currently open focuses on coordinating services for alternative sentencing and benefits enrollment but may vary and be responsible for other services or populations based on organization needs. A successful candidate has an aptitude for attention-to-detail, quickly learning new information and communicating with diverse audiences including justice-involved, and adapting to changes based on program needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Coordinate the daily operations for effective program services and understand and meet program expectations, deadlines, and deliverables. • Coordinate client cases, including client applications, collection of fees, service placement, monitoring, and case reporting. • Assist clients with resource referrals and enrollment into needed programs, services, and benefits such as utilities, food, medical, or other services. • Assist clients who have a court order or are on probation, including adults and youth experiencing justice involvement. • Understand and apply all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines relevant to the program and correctly implement all organizational policies and procedures. • Conduct courses on topics such as anger management or substance use disorder. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with program partners through regular professional communication, compose emails and announcements, answer calls, and provide updates and other program information. • Accurately and consistently enter and maintain program and client data, collect and maintain program statistics and information for ongoing reporting, uphold HIPAA and other applicable requirements for client data and provide programmatic updates to leadership. • Communicate with and assist clients in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner. • Assist in the development and maintenance of program protocols, and collaborate with appropriate staff to create program forms, checklists, and other documents. • Proactively help ensure a clean and safe environment in the program office and off-site service locations. • Successfully maintain performance parameters, improve skills through various means, actively participate in trainings and meetings, and positively contribute to team success by conducting outreach as needed, supporting projects, and performing general clerical duties such as copying, message handling, reports, filing, and data input. • Work closely with the External Affairs department to develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, or other stakeholders in the community. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS • Applicants should have the education, experience, and/or training necessary to fulfill the job duties and responsibilities. Examples of how this requirement may be met include: o Associate’s degree in health or human services such as social work, sociology, psychology, public health, or a related field with 1 year of relevant experience; OR o High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency with 2 years of experience in a relevant field with demonstrated leadership and progressive responsibility. • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to compose letters, emails, and program material content. • Strong computer skills and competence in Microsoft Office environment, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, databases, mail merges, and mailings. • Ability to meet deadlines with strong organizational/planning skills and attention to detail. • Excellent people skills and ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups, including staff, board members, product donors, volunteers, and external stakeholders and clients. • Must be able to pass background checks required for program operations, including Department of Justice (DOJ) and Riverside County Probation. • Preferred: o Bilingual Spanish/English o Experience as a 211 Community Resource Advisor • Ability and commitment to using a trauma-informed and equity lens and empathetically respond to the interconnectedness of barriers experienced by participants.• Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office using standard office equipment such as the telephone, computer, fax machine, and copier. Tasks include moving objects like laptops and chairs, repetitive wrist and hand motions, document preparation and analysis, transcribing information, navigating software, and prolonged sitting.
