Reports to: Program Lead (Department Specific)
Location: MCG Career College – Alberta
Compensation: $35,000.00 annually

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for students, instructors, and stakeholders in their assigned department. This administrative role supports day-to-day operations, including scheduling, instructor compliance, accreditation documentation, and communication between faculty, students, and the Program Lead.

Each coordinator focuses on their department’s unique needs:

  • Built Environments and Design – Manages scheduling, equipment, and records for design, drafting, and construction-related programs; supports project showcases, industry collaborations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Business – Coordinates course schedules, business program resources, guest lectures, and networking events; supports industry partnerships and accreditation processes.
  • Massage Therapy – Oversees lab space scheduling, clinical placements, Student Wellness Clinic operations, and professional licensing compliance; organizes wellness events, outreach programs, and ensures accreditation readiness.
  • Medical Administration – Coordinates classroom and simulation lab schedules, maintains compliance with medical office standards, organizes healthcare industry events, and supports accreditation documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary in administration or a related field preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software, and email systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the Program Lead and other staff.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first line of contact for scheduling, rescheduling, and course information requests.
  • Maintain accurate instructor and student records.
  • Coordinate classrooms, labs, or online platforms, ensuring resources and equipment are available.
  • Track instructor hours for payroll and ensure compliance with college and industry regulations.
  • Assist with the administrative functions of program accreditation, including documentation, evidence gathering, and report preparation.
  • Support department-specific events, industry partnerships, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Program Lead.
