JOB SUMMARY:   The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.  Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 250 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.   The CSIS Economics Program and Scholl Chair in International Business focuses on international economic issues and how they impact U.S. competitiveness, prosperity, and economic security. Our mission is to provide policymakers with analysis and recommendations to strengthen America's economic security and strategic position in an increasingly complex global economy. Through empirical research and policy analysis, the Program anchors growth, opportunity, and strategic partnerships at the heart of economic security strategy. The Program seeks a Program Coordinator or Program Manager to support its work. The ideal candidate is interested in non-profit management, has excellent administrative and operational experience, is experienced in organizing events, and possesses strong writing  skills and attention to detail.    The salary range for this position is $57,000 to $59,000 for Program Coordinator and $60,000 to $62,000 for Program Manager based on experience.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:   • Leading coordination, organization, and logistics of all meetings, conferences, events, and international trips. Events may be in Washington or around the world. • Managing program budget planning, execution, and tracking including administration of invoices, reimbursements, and payments, and coordinating with the Finance and Accounting Department on programmatic budgeting needs. • Coordinating within the Scholl Chair team, with other programs within CSIS, and externally with partner institutions, external stakeholders, and associates. • Supporting donor relations and external funder communication, including grant applications and final reporting requirements. • Developing and drafting multimedia products and web presence for program initiatives including podcasts, media appearances, and studio recordings.  • Other substantive activities and tasks as assigned by the Program Director.       KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:    For Program Coordinator: A minimum of 1 year of related professional experience is required. • For Program Manager: A minimum of 2-3 years of prior professional experience is required, particularly in administrative or operations capacities in team-based setting. • A bachelor’s degree is required. • Should have a solid knowledge of geoeconomic policy. • Candidates must have fluent English-language writing and research skills, be effective critical thinkers and communicators, and be organized and detail-oriented under pressure. • Candidates must be able to function well as part of a friendly, small, and close-knit team. • Computer skills involve the use of the Internet, Microsoft Office Suite, web-based research tools, website management, and social media. • This candidate will be working alongside colleagues internal to CSIS but also  with external parties and must have strong communication skills, be self-disciplined, and detail oriented.   OUR BENEFITS   Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Short-term and long-term disability 403(b) for retirement planning Tuition Assistance Flexible Spending Account Health Savings Account Military Leave 12 Paid Holidays Sick leave Vacation leave     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS:   The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee working in an office environment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.   Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.   Equal Opportunity Employer.     HOW TO APPLY:    Interested applicants should submit a single combined PDF of their résumé, cover letter, writing sample (3-5 pages), and college transcript at https://careers.csis.org/.
