Description Program Coordinator - Montgomery and Greene Counties RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) Full-Time 40 hours/week $37,000/Year GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: RSVP is a National Program of Americorps Seniors. The successful coordinator will recruit, train, and place volunteers with local non-profit organizations, schools and healthcare agencies that address the RSVP Performance Measure Priorities for Community Impact. The coordinator oversees, and is responsible for, all RSVP program operations and goals in Montgomery & Greene Counties. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversees RSVP operations and goals in Montgomery & Greene Counties. 2. Recruits, enrolls and trains volunteers; ensures all proper documentation is obtained; conducts regular volunteer recruitment and gathering events 3. Provides appropriate volunteer recognition throughout the year (i.e. birthdays, important life events) and co-manages the planning and implementation of annual Americorps Senior recognition event. 4. Establishes volunteer stations and ensures stations comply with grant performance measurements as needed; insures stations submit reports when scheduled; addresses any concerns expressed by the station relative to the RSVP program 5. Maintains local volunteer, station and program files and provides central office with required paperwork on time. 6. Submits all reports, including monthly reports on schedule 7. Maintains activity schedule in Outlook Calendar and updates the Calendar on a timely basis 8. Recruits, trains and directs activities of local Advisory Council members with assistance from other Americorps Senior staff as assigned 9. Encourages members to participate in National Days of Service (ex: MLK, Patriot Day) and promotes national service/National Days of Service in the local community 10. Identifies and coordinates new development campaigns to insure adequate funds for program implementation; Maintains paperwork for funding sources as needed; submits data and receives reports as requested; assists Director & Assistant Director with reports as needed. 11. Maintains petty cash and local program budget; prepares check requests as needed 12. Promotes the program's mission and needs and recognizes member contributions to both internal and external audiences; develops relationships with community leaders and organizations to promote Senior Volunteerism. 13. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and education/certification/registry requirements. 14. Assist with maintaining a safe work environment. 15. Provides back-up coverage to other counties as needed. 16. Travels throughout counties and state as needed 17. Other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to interact with others, specifically senior population. 2. Ability to successfully use a computer and the Microsoft Office Suite for required work functions. 3. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. 4. Ability to read and understand procedures, manuals, correspondence and general text. 5. Ability to maintain discretion with confidential data. 6. Valid Ohio Driver’s License, reliable transportation and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability 7. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation and FBI). MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years’ experience in office and/or volunteer management. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Customer service experience either through employment or volunteer services. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Outlook and Excel. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel within and outside of assigned counties as required.
