POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator performs all responsibilities related to BOLD™ Career Pathway Programs implementation, processing, and mentorship. These areas include loan origination and overseeing the servicing/repayment process performed internally and by the outside servicer. The coordinator works with the Outreach team to maintain employer relationships, including outreach efforts and reporting reviews. Assists in underwriting and general customer service as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for attending kickoff meetings with potential BOLD™ Career Pathway Programs employers in partnership with the Director of Outreach and Marketing. Participates in discussions that lead to the contract agreement and term selection of the career path loans.
  • Acts as direct contact for any potential students wishing to discuss program eligibility and employer initial evaluation requirements. Facilitates all contractual agreements and loan applications.
  • Performs all Loan Origination duties associated with the BOLD™ Career Pathway Programs. This includes knowledge of eligibility requirements, vetting students, contacting employers, sending employer/student agreements, and contacting schools. Performs data entry of all paper applications, reviews/edits for completeness, and refers and escalates any needed application(s) or account(s) to management for further review.
  • Coordinates with Financial Services to review and correct disbursement errors.
  • Collaborates with repayment/servicing vendors to resolve repayment issues with disbursed loans.
  • Responsible for borrower mentorship efforts for special programs, including the outbound tasks of calling, emailing and following up with program participants.
  • Coordinates with Loan Programs manager when additional help is needed to fulfill mentorship requirements.
  • Reviews and distributes all employer and exception/issue reports, including current system-generated reports and any ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Participate in training and mentoring new staff to fully understand all special programs and share industry knowledge and expertise to ensure learning continuity.
  • Leads by example and demonstrates the highest levels of professionalism and integrity for others to model.
  • Assists Loan Programs Manager with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience in or knowledge of the student loan industry preferred.

SCSLC is located at 1901 Main Street, Suite 400, Columbia, SC 29201. Our standard hours of operation are from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
