Description This is a hands-on, mission-driven role ideal for someone passionate about youth development and community impact. The Program Director 1 works closely with the Program Director II to support daily program operations, supervise youth, engage families, and ensure a safe, positive program environment. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervise and ensure the safety of youth during program activities. Assist with planning and delivering Y-CAP programming, including values-based lessons and community activities. Support daily program operations, including schedules, meetings, and site coordination. Lead volunteer engagement and support efforts. Maintain accurate documentation, attendance, and basic case management records. Partner with community organizations, including Drive the Dream (DTD) / United Way, to support youth and families. Travel to YMCA centers, schools, and community locations as needed. Serve as a positive role model for youth by demonstrating YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Build meaningful relationships with youth and families using positive behavior support and redirection techniques. Behavioral Characteristics: Welcoming, Nurturing, Determined, Hopeful, and Genuine. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with youth, teens, or at-risk populations preferred (YMCA experience a plus). Must be at least 18 years old and able to work independently with youth. Availability to work afternoons and early evenings. Reliable transportation required (programming occurs at multiple sites). Strong communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills. A passion for youth development and community impact. WORK SCHEDULE: Required to work 40 hours per week and the schedule is based on the needs of the program, which includes evenings and weekends. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, and move frequently throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
