Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth
development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA childcare
program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education and experience
  2. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Ability to monitor revenue and expenses.
  5. Preferred three years’ experience in leadership development, staff hiring, and supervision.
  6. CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  7. YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
  8. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
    the community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the development, implementation, and daily management of the EXL childcare program,
    ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and innovation.
  2. Oversees the coordination of the EXL Program, ensuring engaging activities and the introduction of new
    initiatives that align with strategic and operational plans.
  3. Effectively communicates with the school district and maintains a positive relationship to support program
    objectives.
  4. Manages all aspects of staff, training and development, ensuring effective orientation and support for all staff.
  5. Ensures all call-offs are covered on a daily basis, coordinating with staff to maintain adequate coverage for all
    program sites.
  6. Develops and monitors budgets for the program, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and the timely
    collection of program fees.
  7. Ensures that departmental budgets are effectively controlled and that year-end outcomes are achieved.
  8. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA accommodations, while
    maintaining adherence to YMCA program standards and safety protocols.
  9. Guarantees that all YMCA policies, and Safety requirements are always followed.
  10. Monitors program operations to ensure all requirements are met and upheld.
  11. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers, assessing performance and creating strategies for
    team motivation and achievement of goals.
  12. Fosters an environment that encourages staff recognition, teamwork, and professional development.
  13. Conducts regular performance evaluations of staff, providing constructive feedback and support for growth.
  14. Maintains organized and accurate department records and files, while meeting deadlines
  15. Supports and participates in annual fundraising campaigns, serving as a liaison and assisting in volunteer
    recruitment to ensure campaign success.
  16. Collects program statistics and evaluates effectiveness to enhance participation and outcomes.
  17. Coordinates and engages in special events and team meetings aimed at increasing performance growth and
    staff retention, enhancing the program experience.
  18. Implements regular site visits for observation and evaluation to ensure program quality and consistency.
  19. Represents the YMCA in the community through involvement in various groups, organizations, and coalitions.
  20. Performs additional duties as assigned.
