THE EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCES YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Quality, Safety or Healthcare related field.
  • 7 Years Work Experience.
  • Effective leadership skills, comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, counseling skills; and the ability to motivate.
  • Working knowledge of quality and safety improvement strategies and methods including root cause determination and high reliability organization process improvement.
  • Ability to quickly develop relationships to persuade and negotiate in situations that are controversial/sensitive and result in authoritative decisions. With matters of importance recommendations are escalated to senior leaders.
  • Analytical ability to apply theories, principles, and practices of several disciplines for problem resolution: excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff.
  • Proven competency and experience with executive level presentation skills.
  • Ability to create, build, and lead teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to focus detailed and concentrated efforts to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to effectively respond to time sensitive issues and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

The role of the Imaging Safety Officer is to lead and support safety culture and performance for all Imaging Services across AdventHealth facilities. This individual will facilitate Safety programs through standardization, strategy development, and safety governance in Imaging, Interventional Radiology (IR), Interventional Neuro Radiology (INR), and Radiation Oncology. This individual will ensure that organizational strategy around safe and reliable care is translated and executed to ensure a culture of safety and quality as an organization-wide imperative in both in-patient and ambulatory environments (50 hospitals and 26 outpatient imaging centers). This leader provides direct Imaging Safety oversight to AHMG Radiology, Central Florida Division and Corporate Radiology Governance. The Director will be seen as a leader in which they will provide mentorship as the embedded High Reliability expert. Specifically, High Reliability principles, just culture algorithm, human factors theory, performance improvement and the IHI framework. The Director will also coordinate/collaborate at all levels of leadership, including the C-suite, to facilitate enterprise-wide projects. This individual will report to the Executive Director of Safety and work in collaboration with the Radiology and Surgical / Procedural leadership and their respective downlines.
