PROGRAM DIRECTOR, IN-STORE MEDIA NETWORK ROLLOUT (UK)

Department: Retailer Management & Operations
Location: London, UK
Reports to: Senior Vice President, Retailer Management & Operations
Direct Reports: None initially; will lead cross-functional workstream leaders through a matrix structure.


QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS

  • 10+ years in program management, large-scale deployment, or strategic initiative leadership—preferably within retail, digital media, or technology integration environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and/or digital signage, retail media, or technology deployment projects.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience interfacing with C-level executives and senior client representatives.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant program management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an accomplished Program Director to lead large-scale rollout projects of in-store digital retail media networks for our key retail partners. This highly visible role will oversee all phases of any given implementation, as assigned—planning, coordination, and delivery—ensuring the program is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
The Program Director will work across multiple functional areas within our organization and directly with senior representatives at the retailer to ensure smooth execution, timely decision-making, and alignment with strategic objectives. This position demands exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex cross-functional environments.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end-to-end rollout of multi-site in-store digital media networks, ensuring successful deployment across all retail locations within the agreed timeframe and budget.
  • Coordinate and hold accountable internal leaders across equipment purchasing, warehouse consolidation, installation and deployment, help desk & technical support, content creation, media operations, advertising sales, field service & solutions, and account management.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for the retailers we work with, fostering a collaborative partnership, facilitating clear communication, and ensuring timely decisions on critical milestones.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate comprehensive program plans, including timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Track, report, and present program progress, risks, and issues to internal executives and the retailer’s leadership team.
  • Anticipate and proactively address operational or strategic challenges that could impact delivery or program outcomes.
  • Ensure that all functional workstreams are aligned with the overall program strategy and that deliverables meet agreed quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in program execution processes, applying lessons learned to future initiatives.
