Description

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and event planning.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with working in coordination with a board of directors.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Term position, 30 hours per week. - note this is a 1 year term position.
  • Flexibility in working hours as required.
  • Salary: $50,000.
  • Two weeks of vacation.
  • Six paid sick days.

Responsibilities
  1. Client Based Work:
    · Accept referrals from local organizations, collaborate and build plans related to behavioural challenges, concerns and risk factors.
    · Work one-on-one with clients to build skills and introduce protective factors.
    · Introduce clients to opportunities within the community and encourage them to collaborate with others.
  2. Fundraising and Events:
    · Plan and execute fundraising events throughout the year. Min. $100,000 per year
    · Collaborate with schools to coordinate fundraising initiatives.
    · Create awareness about the programs offered by the organization.
  3. Organization and Time Management:
    · Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
    · Effectively manage time to ensure deadlines and goals are met.
  4. Communication Skills:
    · Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    · Engage with stakeholders, community partners, and the board of directors.
  5. Social Media Management:
    · Utilize social media skills to promote programs and engage with the public.
    · Maintain regular updates on social media platforms to keep the community informed.
  6. Budgeting:
    · Work with office administration to ensure budget is on track and being followed appropriately.
  7. Independence and Motivation:
    · Work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
    · Take responsibility for tasks and projects, ensuring successful completion.
  8. Community Partnerships:
    · Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to establish youth and family programs.
    · Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  9. Planning and Reporting:
    · Develop plans for youth and family programs, tracking and reporting on outputs.
    · Provide regular updates to the board of directors on program progress.
  10. Public Relations:
    · Build positive relationships with the public to enhance the organization’s image.
    · Represent the organization professionally at public events.
