JOB OVERVIEW

Public health at the University of Cincinnati is a dynamic, interdisciplinary field that spans across the College of Medicine, College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology. There are also a growing number of embedded concentrations and dual degree programs and initiatives spanning multiple colleges university wide. The new UC Center for Public Health unifies these efforts under a collaborative framework of shared governance. The Center serves as a central hub that eliminates fragmented efforts, streamlines decision-making, and fosters synergy among stakeholders. It will create a strong, cohesive identity for public health at UC, enhancing internal coordination, community engagement, institutional visibility, and national competitiveness.
The Center for Public Health Is seeking a Program Director to support the strategic development and implementation of global health initiatives across the College of Medicine (COM) and the Center for Public Health, while also serving as a critical liaison between University of Cincinnati and its Tanzanian and international partners. This individual will initially coordinate and support global health programs under the Office of Global Health within the College of Medicine, and when the new Center for Public Health is launched, the position will report directly to the Center Director.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, global health, international development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in program coordination or management.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED

  • Master’s degree in public health, global health, or a related field.
  • Experience working with international partners or institutions.
  • Experience working in an academic health or higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders across disciplines and geographies.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, particularly to Tanzania.
