The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Borough Based Jails (BBJ) Division seeks a Program Executive for Construction to support the BBJ program. In collaboration with the Program Management Consultant (PMC), the selected candidate will oversee all aspects of the construction process for this design-build capital program, which includes four borough-based facilities valued at $16 billion. The Program Executive will lead project management efforts across the portfolio and coordinate with the PMC, BBJ Senior and Project Executives, design-build contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures. The role includes directing multiple construction project executives to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and alignment with program goals; promoting clear communication; overseeing staff performance evaluations; and serving as a liaison between senior leadership and supervisory staff. The Program Executive will also implement a tiered management structure to establish clear accountability and oversight across all teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A valid New York State Registration as an Architect is required. In addition, candidates must have six ( 6 ) years of full-time paid experience in architectural work, at least two (2) years of which shall have been as an administrative architect.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Candidate should possess 20 years of supervisory and managerial experience with the operation, design, and construction of buildings in New York City experience in high rise construction experience in both administration of new construction and demolition work in the public sector, institutional, or commercial buildings and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Design Build Project Delivery processes and procedures preferred.
