Program Support & Implementation

  • Assists in planning and organizing and is responsible for implementing and leading high quality recreation activities that are age-appropriate ensuring participants are fully engaged and having fun in a safe environment.
  • Implements and effectively follows program plans as outlined by the Program Coordinator.
  • Organizes and assists with the set up and tear down of equipment before and after each lesson (as required).
  • Creates a positive and enthusiastic environment for the participants.
  • Possesses knowledge and ability to implement inclusive programming allowing for children and adults of all abilities to participate.
  • Is a role model of City values and inclusiveness through all interactions with program participants, parents, and co-workers.
  • Ensures quality assurance in the delivery of all recreational programming.
  • Performs other duties, responsibilities and functions as assigned.

The Program Instructor will perform all activities in a safe manner, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, along with Corporate Safety policies, procedures and programs. In addition, all necessary personal protective equipment must be used and maintained in good condition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven competence in area of instruction
Minimum age of 14
Strong oral & written communication skills.
Ability to think and interact effectively, tactfully, and courteously with participants, parents and other staff building a cooperative and collaborative working relationship.
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check if aged 18+
Standard First Aid, CPR C & AED Certification.
