We invite you to be a part of Improving Equity in Access to Care with Emergency Fist Response Teams as the Program Lead, EFRT Training & Education.
The Program Lead (PL) is responsible for the overall development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of assigned portfolio activities. Works alongside fellow Program Leads to ensure the effective delivery of quality and education programs in alignment with Ministry of Health guidelines, Accreditation Canada criterion and partner requirements as required. This includes compliance with the Base Hospital mandate, Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards, and the execution of Continuing Quality Improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

• Leads the design, deployment, and evaluation of initial and ongoing training for Emergency First Response Team members.
• Monitors Performance Agreement compliance, standards as set by the Medical Advisory Committee, and quality assurance auditing.
• Collaborates with the Manager, Clinical Education Programs, Associate Medical Officer – Clinical Quality and Corporate Strategy, and Operations to align with corporate quality committees and investigations.
• Collaborates with the Manager, Operations, Emergency First Response Team to ensure program goals are being met through to the tactical operation of teams.
• Directs Faculty Educators in the Initial Education portfolio
• Implements assessment systems and tools to ensure learner competency and progression through EFRT program.
• Conducts regular learner meetings that provides opportunities for feedback and to address program updates and concerns.
• Engages with Ornge leadership to align Quality Improvement initiatives with strategic priorities.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a healthcare field, such as Paramedic, Registered Nurse (Critical Care/Emergency), or Respiratory Therapy.
• Minimum of 5 years of independent practice in a related healthcare field (Paramedic, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy) or 5 years of experience in educating health professionals.
• Certification as a Paramedic, Registered Nurse (Critical Care/Emergency), or Respiratory Therapist (Critical Care/Emergency).
• Extensive experience in design, coordination, and delivery of related programs.
• Proven track record in mentorship and team building.
• Experience and training in formal project management.
• Experience in the Air Ambulance/Ambulance Service industry (Service Operators, Community Colleges, or Base Hospitals).
• Experience in developing and delivering healthcare-related programs/projects in hybrid learning models using simulation as a primary educational tool.
• Medical Quality Assurance / CQI experience.
• Experience in teaching health professionals or within an Ontario Base Hospital as an educator/CQI.
• Experience training teams, possess strong leadership, mentorship, and management skills.
