Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalen
Responsibilities
  • Lead a class of school aged children in a variety of activities, games, journaling and facility tours
  • Lead children/youth in recreational activities such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, pickleball, badminton, and/or obstacle courses
  • Ensure the safety of participants while ensuring activities are progressive, challenging and can adapt to varying levels of skills
  • Deliver high quality, adaptable and inclusive programs for students of all abilities
  • Promote development of fundamental movement skills, physical competence and self confidence
  • Create a safe, positive and welcoming environment where participants can thrive while developing physically, cognitively and socially
  • Promote the benefits of healthy living and physical activity
  • Ability to use program materials and equipment safely
  • Provide outstanding customer service to participants, teachers, families and patrons
  • Create a positive workplace environment through respectful interactions with all recreation facility staff
  • Maintain program related paperwork, such as attendance, evaluations and incident reports
  • Attend training as required
  • Other related duties as required
