PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 8+ years relevant work experience including delivering front office asset management programs.
  • Experience working within a projectized team within financial services e.g. asset management, bank.
  • Familiarity with OEIC, SICAV investment scheme projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and being able to work with people across multiple locations.
  • Experience of facilitating meetings with stakeholders to make decisions, review and present findings and solve key issues.
  • Project management accreditation (PMP, Prince II etc.)
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce material to a high executive standard suitable for board level, steering committee material, regulators.
  • Ability to translate and simplify complex business and technical concepts.
  • An intellectual curiosity that will drive a detailed and thorough examination of all issues and ensure analysis is conducted to a very thorough and high standard.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people across multiple time zones, technical backgrounds and cultures.
  • Comfortable working with senior executive managers including a sponsorship capacity.
  • Effective at delivering high quality output under time constraints.
  • Well organized and self-motivated.
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Hands on experience with a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool e.g. Planview, Clarity.

Preferred:

  • Project Management experience of working on Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) projects.
  • Experience gained within an asset management firm.
  • University degree e.g. bachelors, masters.

Responsibilities

The Transformation Office (TO) Program Manager is required to drive execution of business change projects that support the multi-year strategic growth roadmap for the global distribution (front office) business.
The program is a strategic priority for the firm that is focused on accelerating business growth, revenue and continued client retention through new and enhancements to existing products. This role will work closely with leaders across Distribution, Investments, Global Product Operations & Technology as well as other Project/Program Managers.
The role requires an understanding of UK investment management products, vehicles, and clients, gained through project management experience. The successful candidate must have excellent presentation skills to communicate effectively and succinctly to senior stakeholders, an attention to detail, ability to manage senior level meetings including steering committees.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Direct a large-scale, complex program with underlying projects spanning multiple stakeholders.
  • Partner with business sponsors and technology to ensure the successfully delivery of the program to the required and agreed timescales, budget and quality.
  • Understand the sponsoring business case, business & technology impact and delivered benefits.
  • Run effective Steering Committees, Working Groups including facilitation, programmatic material, agendas, actions, minutes and executive updates to Sponsors and senior stakeholders.
  • Implement appropriate governance for the program and ensure adherence.
  • Facilitate and drive discussions to ensure the detail is understood and captured, drive to mitigate risks and resolve issue.
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of the program.
  • Drive escalations through governance and directly with stakeholders as necessary.
  • Develop the program charter, integrated program plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related program management artifacts.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between program size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
  • Validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related program expenditures.
  • Manage the program according to established methodology and standards.
  • Update relevant stakeholders of program status and represent the program at governance forums.
  • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan.
