What you will do:
- Support the planning, implementation, and support of maritime communication and networking solutions, ensuring alignment with operational and security objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between government agencies, defense contractors, and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure all maritime network systems comply with DoD, NIST, and industry cybersecurity regulations, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while meeting performance and security standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers and security specialists, and provide training on best practice IT operations.
- Provide project management oversight to support network troubleshooting, upgrades, and scalability improvements, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies such as 5G, SD-WAN, and AI-driven network management to enhance maritime network resilience and efficiency.
- Work closely with network engineers, naval architects, and subject matter experts to ensure the integration of all systems, aligning with project specifications and operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities for mission enhancements, cost reductions, and design improvements based on emerging technologies and operational feedback.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in maritime, defense, or IT-related fields.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale programs, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across government, military, and commercial sectors.
- Strong understanding of contract management, procurement processes, and DoD acquisition frameworks.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring program objectives align with organizational goals.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience working on maritime or naval platforms is desirable.
- Familiarity with communication systems (e.g., Wi-Fi, SATCOM, 5g) and related technologies.
- Familiarity with military and maritime standards, including MIL-STD, and industry regulations for shipboard network installations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to address technical challenges and ensure seamless network operations.
- Willingness to travel and work on board vessels for extended periods, including offshore assignments.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and respond to urgent technical issues in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year College/University (preferred).
- Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- US citizenship required.
