GENERAL SUMMARY The role of the Program Manager provides leadership in coordinating, facilitating, motivating, and directing efforts of cross-functional program teams and ensures efficient use of team resources. Develops and gains support for program objectives. Documents and monitors program objectives and ensure countermeasures are initiated to correct unfavorable variances. Works with internal and external resources to maintain strong customer relationships with dedication to customer program schedules. Ensures customer and Company requirements are met including cost, quality, timing, and other related aspects of programs. Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Performs other duties as necessary to ensure successful product launch. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS A. Acts as primary customer contact for technical items associated with assigned programs B. Promotes professionalism in all dealings (internal/external/supplier/customer) C. Manages and facilitates communications with and between multi-disciplinary team members including individuals from Sales, Product Development, Advanced Quality, Purchasing and Manufacturing. D. Communicates customer expectations & program objectives to the APQP team. E. Confirms and reports status against targets for process, cost and productivity. F. Monitors and tracks progress of assigned projects. G. Leads regular project reviews and escalates to inform of program risks H. Facilities interaction with Customer, Technical Disciplines, Manufacturing and Internal Management. I. Coordinates and maintains communications with the customer and Plant Operations for all program activities. J. Anticipate, analyze and communicate technical, commercial, and operational issues to unsure successful program launch K. Ensures countermeasures are initiated to correct unfavorable variances by communicating alternative measures to the customer. L. Promotes coordination and communication of program team. M. Initiates PO's for required contracted work. N. Chairs Engineering Change kick-off meetings. O. Participates in Feasibility Review meetings P. Participate in New Product Development as necessary Q. Support Internal/External/Customer audits as required R. Coordinate individual, team and plant improvement activities S. In addition to performing primary duties, the individual shall provide support where deemed necessary by manager/designate T. Participate in Associate Involvement (AI) teams as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Education: • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, or related field is required. Experience: • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience • Minimum 3 years in automotive manufacturing • Minimum 2 years in Program/Customer Management experience Personal/Technical Skills: • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem solving situations • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things. Computer/Software: • Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.) • Working knowledge and experience with ERP / MRP software. Travel: • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time, or as needed.
