STORM DUTY REQUIREMENTS

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company’s rules and procedures.
Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.

EDUCATION

  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, accounting or finance.

EXPERIENCE

  • Required:
  • 4 years experience in customer service.
  • Preferred:
  • 2 years experience working with commercial energy management programs and commercial customers.
  • 2 years demonstrated experience of successful negotiation skills.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Required:
  • Moderate competency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills. Emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in planning & organizing skills to administer the commercial demand and energy goals.
  • Above average communication skills. Proficient in performing variance analysis, writing responses to interrogatories, and writing other ad hoc reports to management.
  • Above average knowledge of industry commercial conservation programs and program development techniques.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills in the areas of vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Preferred:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Commercial tariff agreements and regulatory requirements for the accurate delivery of current Conservation programs.
  • Working knowledge of program development or program management
  • Direct or indirect contract and/or program management
  • Knowledge of TECO Customer Service programs, experience in high bill resolution and energy conservation techniques; knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office suite, the Energy Management database, and use of laptops and wireless technologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical ability to safely lift, carry and maneuver a thirty-five (35) pound ladder, climb throughout attics to perform audits and inspections in adverse conditions such as superheated attics and outdoors in sun and rain.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the development, implementation, supervision and maintenance of Commercial Demand Side Planning (DSM) program activities. Associated duties include coordinating research, testing, monitoring, reporting and procedure development of new and existing programs within the Company and with outside contractors and venders to grow customer participation, and control expenses.
  • Coordinate the development and preparation of all quality standards for the commercial EMS programs. Prepare and report commercial conservation activities, budget commercial program expenses and report on commercial DSM performance, in addition to responding to FPSC interrogatories and miscellaneous requests.
  • Provide technical training to internal team-members and external contractors. Determine if/when business constituents are job-ready, to perform commercial responsibilities, through field/situation observation. Mentors, provides feedback on performance results and provides additional training for EMS team members.
  • Responsible for establishing objectives for DSM commercial programs, including responsibility for coordination of DSM-related advertising, public announcements and company-sponsored brochures.
  • Establishes updates and maintains training criteria and techniques for the Company’s commercial EMS-related programs. Also assists in maintaining the EMS library and/or database of technical reports related to commercial equipment.
  • Develops business relationship with business partners and all other appropriate key shareholders to foster long term partnerships and to ensure successful execution of commercial programs implementation.
  • Lead special projects as assigned, including budgeting, reforecasting and completing interrogatory responses and commercial program surveys. Provide direct support to the Company’s Incident Command duties & responsibilities for storm duty and other emergency response activities.
