OPPORTUNITY
MacEwan University is seeking a detail-oriented Program Manager, Credit Courses and Certificates, for a 12-month full-time replacement term opportunity with our School of Continuing Education. Reporting to the Associate Dean, you will manage an assigned portfolio, supporting all phases of course delivery, evaluation and review, and providing excellent customer service to faculty, students, and program participants, contributing to the success of credit courses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating, implementing, and executing projects, while developing an overall project management framework and implementing improved processes, tools and practices;
- Coordinating the full program life cycle;
- Preparing progress reports, proposals, briefing notes, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences;
- Leading the design, development, and implementation of new courses and redevelopment of courses in response to market trends;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to set program, enrollment and marketing schedules;
- Facilitating collaboration between subject matter experts and Instructional Designers to align course goals, course content, learning outcomes, and instructional strategies;
- Ensuring compliance with curriculum governance policies and procedures and other institutional and regulatory requirements;
- Conducting market research and needs assessments, analyzing data to compare program performance against market data, and identifying emerging trends and skills gaps;
- Supporting prospective and current domestic and international students;
- Collaborating with MacEwan International on immigration-related support activities;
- Planning orientations, workshops and onboarding processes;
- Responding to inquiries from students, faculty, and other stakeholders;
- Supporting program budget development and tracking;
- Coordinating the curriculum review and approval process, including new programs, course modifications, and program revisions by working with relevant stakeholders to collect and coordinate data, information and other content;
- Planning and coordinating the implementation of changes resulting from program reviews and other curriculum-related development;
- Monitoring, tracking and updating movement of Master Course Syllabi and Programs of Study within the Course Inventory Management application and supporting governance approval processes;
- Creating new Master Course Syllabi proposals in the Course Inventory Management application;
- Managing accreditation activities and requirements, like data collection, analysis, and reporting;
- Coordinating content and facilitating the review of draft Academic Calendars;
- Providing guidance to faculty in the use of the CIM system; and
- Organizing and scheduling curriculum development meetings, focus groups, and workshops with internal and external groups to support curriculum development processes.
SKILLS
You will have:

- Understanding of trends and best practices in adult learning principles, universal design for learning, and continuing education;
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess program performance and make data-driven decisions;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management software, like Microsoft Projects; and
- Familiarity with database management tools, learning management systems, digital learning tools and student registration systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a degree in education, business, administration, instructional design or a related field.
- Certification or training in project management.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in program management, project management, course development or a similar field.
- Experience with curriculum planning and coordination is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a post-secondary, corporate learning and development or other learning environments is considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
