Job Overview The Program Manager CTE GR will work in collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director of Career and Technical Education to direct, manage and improve CTE programs in grades 6-12, including Career and Technical Student Organizations. The incumbent will provide guidance and oversight regarding the provision of CTE services in the public school setting. An incumbent at this level is expected to coordinate instructional programs on a district level. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Provide CTE teachers with the knowledge and skills to deliver the written, taught, and assessed curriculum effectively, thereby, improving student achievement Develop, monitor and revise written curriculum for specific program areas Assist in the development of standardized program assessments aligned with the written curriculum Perform classroom observations in order to provide data driven feedback regarding teaching strategies and opportunities for growth Plan, develop, execute and facilitate professional development for CTE personnel and district administrators Personnel Management Screen CTE teacher candidates Monitor teacher schedules to ensure appropriate certification Program Compliance Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvements as required to meet the needs of all students Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of special projects Collect, compile and analyze data to be used in program evaluation, filing of state and federal reports and compliance monitoring Assist in the development, oversight and management of assigned program budgets Assist in the establishment of policies and procedures which ensure a safe teaching environment, access to state-of-the-art equipment and up-to-date training for both students and teachers School / Community Relations Serve as liaison and maintain continuing communications with teachers, student groups, business, civic and community sources to achieve understanding and support for CTE programs Budgetary Control Assist in the development and administration of the CTE department budget Maintain timely and accurate records relating to expenditures associated with assigned budget strings Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Program Managers will work in collaboration with the Director, Career and Technical Education to supervise the appropriate administrative assistant staff. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily. Master's degree required Valid Appropriate CTE Teaching Certification, issued by Texas Educaiton Agency Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in one or more CTE programs Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience over CTE programs Demonstrated ability to lead in a positive manner Demonstrated knowledge of, and interest in, all multiple CTE program areas Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and growing work environment Ability to problem solve and effectively communicate Ability to work independently and as part of a team Efficient organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with the public, district staff and district administration Physical Requirements/Working Conditions The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position is funded by grant funds. This position may be discontinued if grant funds are no longer available.
