Description The Program Manager for Elementary Programs at Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the Girls Inc. Goleta Valley Center. This role ensures that programs are delivered with excellence and always align with our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We are seeking a mission-driven leader with experience in youth-focused community work, education, or childhood development who will create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where girls can thrive. The Program Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that Girls Inc. is a trusted hub of opportunity and empowerment—providing high-quality experiences that foster confidence, community, resilience, and academic success. This position provides direct supervision and coaching to 10–15 program staff, supports their professional growth, and builds strong, collaborative relationships with girls, families, schools, and community partners. Success in this role requires balancing vision with operational excellence while upholding Girls Inc.’s values of equity, respect, and empowerment. Employment Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Work Location: 100% Onsite at 4973 Hollister Avenue Schedule: Monday–Friday (occasional evenings or weekends as needed) Requirements Deep commitment to the mission, vision, and advocacy statements of Girls Inc. Professional experience working with youth in education, community-based programming, child development, or related field Demonstrated ability to build trust and respect across diverse populations, cultures, and economic experiences Skill in inspiring, empowering, and mentoring both girls and staff Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment while managing multiple priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Creative, innovative, and resourceful approach to problem-solving and program delivery Proven track record of leadership, self-motivation, and professionalism Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Canva or similar design platform Key Responsibilities Program and Center Management: Oversee day-to-day programs and operations to ensure safe, high-quality programming aligned with Girls Inc.’s mission and goals. Personnel Management: Recruit, supervise, and coach staff to deliver strong, consistent programming and professional growth. Data & Impact Management: Collect and analyze program data to track outcomes, enrollment, and impact. Personnel Operations: Support HR processes such as onboarding and timesheets, training, and performance reviews. Finance Support: Monitor budgets and support fiscal responsibility. Qualifications Required 18 years of age or older Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Kinesiology, Social Work, Child Development, Education or a related field Minimum 3 years of experience in a people management role, with responsibility for direct reports. 12 college level units in early childhood education or any of the following substitutes: sociology, psychology, art, music, dance, drama, recreation, education Experience creating and facilitating curriculum that is inclusive, youth-driven, and culturally responsive Strong group facilitation, classroom management, and youth mentorship skills Passion for creative expression and community engagement Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills Clean criminal record Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening Proof of vaccination per licensing requirements (Pertussis, Measles, TB) CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Qualifications Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) Valid California Driver’s License and willingness to pursue Class B license with passenger endorsement (transportation training and support provided) Work Environment & Physical Requirements Indoor and outdoor youth program environment with physical activity required daily Ability to lead physical activities and lift/move objects up to 20 lbs May involve extended periods of movement and active engagement with participants Benefits Health, dental, vision, life, 403(b) retirement plan, vacation, and sick time.
