Join an internationally leading research program improving cancer outcomes through equitable next generation radiotherapy technology development Located at South Eveleigh Biomedical building in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Four-year full time fixed term contract, Base salary from $127,436 -$156,103 p.a., plus leave loading and a 17% superannuation About the opportunity Radiotherapy is used in the care of around half of all people with cancer, yet many patients experience side effects that significantly reduce quality of life. While emerging technologies can substantially reduce these effects, access is often limited by cost, complexity, or infrastructure. The Image X Institute has been awarded a major Translational Program Grant (TPG) to address this challenge by developing and translating scalable, low-cost radiotherapy and imaging innovations with the potential to improve outcomes and reduce inequities in cancer care.‑cost radiotherapy and imaging innovations We are seeking a Program Manager (Level B/C) to support the successful delivery of this ambitious, multi‑year research program. Working closely with the Program Director (Professor Paul Keall), Chief Investigators, clinical partners, and stakeholders, you will conduct research on a theme of the program and provide program‑level coordination, governance support, and operational leadership. As Program Manager, you will play a central role in coordinating the delivery of the Program, ensuring activities progress in line with funding requirements, milestones, and timelines. This role sits at the interface of academic leadership, research operations, and stakeholder engagement, and contributes directly to the Program’s long‑term impact goals. This role suits a researcher who combines strong organisational capability with experience in research programs and a commitment to translation and impact. Your key responsibilities will be to: Mange the research program, develop and maintain program plans, milestones, meetings, schedules, and risk registers, liaise with key stakeholders Perform research in medical physics, working diligently to develop and translate scalable, low-cost radiotherapy and imaging innovations with the potential to improve outcomes and reduce inequities in cancer care. The duties may include‑cost radiotherapy and imaging innovations -clinical-trial involvement -algorithm development -data analysis Contribute to written materials, reports, presentations, and communications Mentor junior academic staff and students as necessary to achieve the program objectives. About you: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g. Medical Physics, Radiology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Medicine, or Engineering) Demonstrated experience or knowledge of one or more of the following: computational algorithm development medical imaging expertise medical device development clinical trials A demonstrated ability to conduct research/scholarly activities with high quality publications Experience supporting or managing research projects or programs Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
