This position requires an experienced industrial automation project manager who enjoys an entrepreneurial environment where they can lead the implementation of challenging and unique solutions to real-world problems.

PROGRAM POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing automation projects from conception through completion. This role involves planning, executing, and finalizing projects within the constraints of budget, time, and scope. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional mechanical and electrical teams, ensuring project goals are met and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience, preferably within the automation or manufacturing sector.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel
  • G2 Ontario driver’s licence

Project Execution:

  • Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to the project plan and timeline.
  • Monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure project requirements are met.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Track and analyze project performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance project management practices.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective utilization of resources.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with clients, addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

Budget Management:

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Provide regular financial reports to senior management.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure projects meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any deviations from project specifications.

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices for future projects.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with senior management to keep them informed with respect to issues of safety, customer feedback, discrepancies, equipment maintenance, or any situation that may impede operations.
