Description

PHA Michigan LLC is seeking an experienced Program Manager within the automotive industry to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI. This position is responsible to execute new product launches and manage current production programs for our OEM customer base. This includes leading projects by overseeing timelines, budgets, quality standards, and communication between internal departments and customer contacts. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and customer-facing experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to make strategic decisions and execute a resultsdriven approach. Strong knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC). Knowledge of production assembly management processes and best practices. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technical software packages (QMES, SAP, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and tight deadlines in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with a proactive and structured approach.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Fast learning skills with passion for learning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive program management, preferably as a Tier 1 supplier.
  • Proven experience managing programs for OEM customers.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and drive performance in a production assembly setting.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
  • PMP certification (preferred but not required).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting for extended periods (e.g., working at a computer, attending meetings).
  • Standing and walking, especially during plant tours, meetings on the production floor, or customer site visits.
  • Occasional lifting (up to ~ 30lbs).

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead endtoend program management for GM and FORD programs from award to SOP (Start of Production) and through the production lifecycle.
  • Organize and lead regular FMEA meetings in collaboration with R&D.
  • Communicate with CFT members at HQ who are nonnative English speakers, operate regular meetings, and lead projects (flexible working hours due to time difference between South Korea & United States)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OEM customers on programrelated activities, ensuring seamless communication and efficient management of program deliverables.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, manage program timelines, and financial oversight.
  • Lead crossfunctional team (sales, engineering, quality, purchasing, production, etc.) to ensure quality, profitability, timely program delivery, and risk mitigation, validated through project oversight.
  • Ensure all APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) requirements are met.
  • Manage and track program scope, budget deviations, tooling costs, and capital expenditures, ensuring profitability and cost control.
  • Coordinate prototype builds, design changes, and engineering validation testing (DV/PV).
  • Maintain program documentation including open issues, risk registers, timing plans, and gate reviews.
  • Support launch readiness including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), process capability studies, and line trials.
  • Report program status to internal leadership and customers regularly through reviews and dashboards.
  • Drive resolution of issues impacting timing, quality, or cost.
  • Ensure accountability for project milestones, driving timely and successful execution.
  • Foster a collaborative, customerfocused environment to efficiently achieve project objectives, ensuring alignment with customer expectation.
