Under minimal supervision, this position provides high level program management to all aspects of special programs including Area Board of Directors and Leadership Councils and complex Corporate Partnerships. Service delivery includes planning, pilot testing, best practices, training, material development evaluation, and measurement components and promotion. This position will support these programs through the complete life-cycle (from implementation through to completion).

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to three years in successful program and project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional product teams within budgetary and schedule constraints

OTHER SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Project Management principles, methods and techniques
  • Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure activities, paying particular attention to detail

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and coordinate the work of multiple programs engaged in the establishment and implementation of new strategic processes and projects.
  • Serves as the primary contact and coordinator triage contact handling situations and inquiries originating from various entities, Teams, Committee members, vendors and/or Task Force members.
  • Identifies and works to remove barriers to successful completion of the overall program, with particular emphasis on resolving issues with cross-module implications.
  • Facilitates decision making processes as appropriate, serving as liaison between involved parties, and adjudicating disagreements on approach to ensure the maintenance of an integrated focus for the overall program.
  • Provides timely status updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and effectively execute project plans throughout the life of assigned program (s) according to established procedures, channels and success expectations.
  • Contribute to continual process and people management innovation, supporting effective delivery of solutions.
  • Establish clear parameters supporting the success of all programs.
  • Understand and communicate business needs to the team.
  • Develops and manages consistently deployed nationwide mode to support goals and strategies.
  • Conducts market research and applies data to any work previously conducted by the Society, in development and rollout of best practices directory and program materials.
  • Incorporates national delivery components with community-based components to be available using standardized core essential elements. Implement programs, activities and functions designed to achieve the goals and priorities of the American Cancer Society.
  • Manage and adhere to department budget.
  • Participates in meetings and conference calls, take notes, distribute information, and provide overall support to the Vice President and Executive Director.
