Description

Bridging Family Care (BFC) is a provider of specialized care for adults and children with complex special needs who are often dual diagnosed. We create specialized, individual services that support the independence, inclusion, and dignity of the individuals we support in our residential care homes.
We are currently seeking a Program Manager who is accountable for the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of multiple residential programs in the organization. Reporting to the Director of Service, the Program Manager’s mandate is to help residents achieve their development goals with dignity. Within that mandate, the Program Manager is accountable for creating the conditions that result in (a) a full and growing roster of residents, (b) quality care and professional delivery of development support services, (c) a financially sustainable service delivery model, and (d) a work environment that prioritizes health and safety, accountability, and personal development for direct support workers and management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day operational management of assigned programs; providing leadership, coaching, constructive feedback, direction and support to the staff teams
  • Attend the programs to maintain a presence in the home to ensure company standards are being met
  • Attend parent meetings, sessions with therapists, school conferences etc. as required
  • Checking in on clients to ensure they are engaged in meaningful activities
  • Directly manage Supervisors and plan for adequate and effective staffing at each residence
  • Ongoing engagement with staff to allow for opportunities for open communication and feedback; invest in the overall well being of the staff teams
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff
  • Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate documentation, daily reports, logbooks and data sheets, time sheets, payroll records, and attendance records
  • Ensure programs are operating within the fiscal budget

Qualifications:

We will review the resumes of all applicants and will be looking for a minimum of 5 years experience in the industry, ideally with 2+ years of supervisory experience. We will also consider the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a relevant 2-year college program (SSW, DSW)
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and direct staff in a positive manner
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use discretion in a fast paced, residential treatment setting
  • Sound crisis management skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of quality/compliance legislation

Please note the following criteria that is required of all candidates:

  • Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Completion or willingness to be trained in Safe Management techniques
  • G-Class driver’s license, valid insurance, and a reliable vehicle
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR level C
  • Satisfactory vulnerable sector police records check and pre-employment medical screening (required prior to commencement of employment)
