A BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Division of Neonatology (NEO) aims to improve healthcare, using healthcare outcomes research and by teaching and mentoring clinicians. NEO faculty serves as investigators on numerous studies from many clinical divisions and departments at both institutions. NEO is currently seeking an individual who will take primary responsibility for administrative and financial support for Clinical Research Faculty and Fellows within the Division

  • Participate in long range planning of NEO activities and revenues
  • Identify new funding opportunities compatible with the strengths and interests of NEO faculty and Fellows
  • Expand collaborations within CHOP and across institutions, including center and infrastructure grants
  • Provide support to the Clinical Research Faculty and Fellows in the following activities
  • Management of overall NEO budgets
  • Management of the budget portfolios of NEO faculty and of NEO based projects
  • Projection of NEO expenditures and drafting of budget and financial reports
  • Coordination of reports to funders and regulatory bodies.
  • Supervision of IRB protocol preparation and monitoring of IRB status of studies
  • Liaise with Research Administration at CHOP and Penn
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and requirements of funding agencies.
  • Coordinate grant preparation and reporting:
  • Manage database of current, pending, and in preparation grants
  • Draft budgets and budget justifications for grants
  • Manage all aspects of subcontracts and consulting agreements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Required
  • Master’s Degree in business, healthcare administration, or a healthcare related field - Preferred

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three (3) years of program management experience - Required
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, research or academic related environment - Required
  • At least five (5) years of program management experience - Preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced knowledge of process improvement tools and methodologies
  • Intermediate knowledge of data and database management tools and principles

  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting, billing and finance principles
