The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity is pleased to search for a Program Manager to coordinate and assess the activities of its Intellectual Communities of Practice. As collaborative convenors, the Kirwan Institute fosters a collective learning environment where interdisciplinary stakeholders — ranging from scholars to community leaders — work together to tackle complex societal challenges through research, dialogue and innovative strategies. This approach encourages cross-sector collaboration, amplifying all voices and perspectives in pursuit of transformative research impact.
The program manager’s specific duties will involve organizing interested faculty, staff, and external partners into Intellectual Communities of Practice, coordinating community activities, managing program evaluation processes, and serving as a one-stop resource for faculty and external partners engaged in the communities. The program manager is expected to apply their knowledge of theory and research relevant to the research mission of the Kirwan Institute, which includes poverty alleviation, future-ready sustainable youth employment, and higher education for tomorrow’s America. Program evaluation management duties will include development of dashboards to track program progress, and management of overall program evaluation for both accountability and reporting purposes. Last, but not least, the program manager will serve as the project manager for the creation of materials and processes associated with each intellectual community of practice within Kirwan’s purview.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as project lead for intellectual communities of practice, including Kirwan faculty affiliates, IQRMI, and intellectual communities of practice that are currently in development
  • Manage program evaluation and reporting activities, including development of dashboards to track progress, program evaluation, and generating progress reports for relevant funding agencies as applicable.
  • Oversee creation and collation of materials and processes emerging from each intellectual community of practice
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
    Minimum Required: Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Minimum of six years’ experience with program assessment and managing multiple projects; strong organizational skills; strong writing and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders; strong interpersonal skills.
    Desired: Masters or Ph. D. in STEM or related educational field. Previous experience in managing a grant-funded program
