POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Program Officer is responsible for overseeing the implementation and evaluation of grantmaking strategies and programs that advance the foundation’s mission. This includes managing the foundation’s discretionary grant portfolio, collaborating with community stakeholders, providing technical assistance, convening grantees and partners, and ensuring that all programs align with strategic priorities. The Program Officer will also play a key role in fostering relationships with donors, nonprofit partners, and other key community organizations. This position reports to the Director of Strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in philanthropy, nonprofit sector or similar fields.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, handling multiple projects at once, with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication with strong writing skills.
  • Strong customer service/donor development skills.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated; ability to collaborate with co-workers, foundation peers and community leaders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and tact with highly sensitive personal and financial information.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills among diverse constituent groups.
  • Experience in leading, facilitating, and mobilizing community coalitions.
  • Demonstrated analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Well-developed technology proficiency (including Microsoft Suite, Adobe and social media), and the ability to self-support for basic computer and network problems.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in a professional and appropriate manner while maintaining a healthy sense of humor.
  • Passion for community philanthropy and nonprofit organizations.
  • Great love of Reno County with a strong desire to make it greater.
