JOB SUMMARY

Raytheon has an immediate need for a Program Operations Manager (POM) for the AIM-9X program (development pillar) onsite in Tucson, Arizona. This is a key role leading the Operations tasking on the development facing Integrated Product Leadership Team (IPLT) ensuring the success of new technology (transition to production) into a legacy product, including scalable manufacturing processes, while considering costs, materials, quality control, and design for manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in technical, programmatic, and manufacturing leadership roles.
The successful candidate will drive the overall design for manufacturing activities from proof of design through transition to production, focused on high yield manufacturing, test robustness and repeatability. The POM is the primary interface between the Program Office IPLT and the factory leadership, responsible for communicating all Program requirements to the Strategic Make Centers (SMCs) and manufacturing sites. Results will be accomplished through leading, influencing and briefing all levels of the organization, including internal and external customers. The preferred candidate must be able to work beyond the typical 40-hour work week, travel domestically and move between buildings and local facilities.
Applicant must be located in Tucson or willing to relocate. However, there is NO relocation assistance for this role.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of relevant experience to include working within a Manufacturing, Operations, or Process Engineering.
  • Experience with complex designs and how to best implement successfully in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) to include use of financial planning tools and hold active EVM certification
  • Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning system
  • Experience with proposals, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and USG contract negotiations

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience managing support plans and maintaining schedule in cross-functional, matrixed environment Previous program manufacturing experience
  • Experience with manufacturing tool sets and how to leverage information from material receipt through DD250 within a defense contracting organization
  • Experience with manufacturing and test solution development and associated capital planning
  • Continuous improvement experience (CORE, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with the IPDS (Integrated Product Development System) and associated Gate activities
  • Experience with budget and schedule responsibility
  • Experience with presentations of Operations activities, plans, tasks, and/or delivery outlooks and Program-level information to internal and USG customers.
  • Experience with Technical Data Package (TDP) reviews and approval
  • Experience with transition of programs from development to production footing
  • Experience leading teams in cost reduction initiatives and manufacturing cycle time reduction
  • Experience Raytheon defense product structures and product technical detailsExperience bridging manufacturing realities to financial commitments

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Accountable for all operations team cost, schedule, and quality
  • Manage the coordination and execution of schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, Subcontracts, Engineering and other functional areas to pre-Gate 10 activities
  • Support Manufacturing Operations strategy and utilize CORE best practices
  • Coordinate Operations bids for new factory-facing proposals
  • Generate manufacturing sections of technical proposals
  • Interface with internal and external customers to understand needs and issues, ensuring the customers receive satisfactory standards of serviceDefine clear operational schedules, priorities & goals for each Strategic Make Center
