PROGRAM SPECIALIST (FARM PROGRAM) Methodist Home for Children Are you a strong case manager and team leader looking for a role that’s anything but ordinary? Methodist Home for Children is seeking a Program Specialist to lead and support our unique Farm Transitional Living Program, where youth build life skills, vocational confidence, and brighter futures in a structured, farm-like residential setting. This role blends case management, supervision, and hands-on leadership in a mission-driven environment. If you have experience working with teens and supervising staff- and you’re ready for meaningful work that makes a daily impact- we’d love to meet you. ---------------------------------------- WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE * Work in a farm-based residential program that integrates agricultural and vocational learning. * Lead a team while mentoring youth preparing for independence. * Combine case management with program operations and supervision. * Be part of an organization committed to transforming the lives of at-risk youth across North Carolina. ---------------------------------------- WHAT YOU’LL DO Case Management & Youth Development * Coordinate child and family team meetings and individualized service plans * Support youth in education, vocational training, and employment opportunities * Develop and monitor transition and aftercare plans (up to 6 months post-placement) * Connect youth to mentors, apprenticeships, and community resources * Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case records Program & Staff Leadership * Provide on-site supervision of residential staff and program operations * Oversee budgets, scheduling, property management, and daily operations * Ensure delivery of direct treatment services consistent with agency standards * Provide 24-hour on-call/back-up support as needed * Foster a structured, family-style home environment Community & Operational Engagement * Build relationships with families, service providers, volunteers, and neighbors * Transport youth to appointments, school, court, and community activities * Maintain compliance with contractual and accreditation standards * Participate in quality improvement and staff development initiatives ---------------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field (required) * Minimum 2 years’ experience working with teens; residential or at-risk youth experience preferred * Supervisory or program leadership experience  * Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage ---------------------------------------- WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a hands-on leadership role in a dynamic residential and farm setting.
